Afterdesk

FAQ

Straight answers.

If it is not here, email hello@afterdesk.com. There is no chatbot on this site.

What trades do you cover?+

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing. Other home-service trades are possible if the job types and emergency rules are as crisp as those four. If they are not, the audit will say so.

Is this a ChatGPT wrapper on my website?+

No. Afterdesk is the phone and SMS desk for missed and after-hours calls. It qualifies work and writes a calendar event. There is no chat widget in the product, and none on this site.

Do I have to fire my answering service on day one?+

No. Install runs the answering service in parallel until Afterdesk is taking the after-hours trunk cleanly. Most shops keep the human service for overflow or Spanish until they decide otherwise. Afterdesk itself is English-only.

Which calendars?+

ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, and Google Calendar. If you are on something else, say so on the audit form. The install is one location; a second board is a second install.

Where do you operate?+

English-speaking markets: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. Voice and SMS are in English. Local numbers and time zones are set at install.

What if Afterdesk books the wrong job?+

Qualification rules are written down in the install: job types, service area, what never gets booked. A bad book is a defect — we correct the rule and, if needed, you cancel the appointment. The monthly work includes those updates. We do not hide behind “the model said so.”

Who is actually on the line — a person or a model?+

A model, on your voice number, under your company name, with your rules. There is no night shift of agents in another city pretending to be dispatch. If a call needs a human (gas smell with symptoms, medical, threat), Afterdesk hands off to the on-call number you name.

What is the $750 audit, exactly?+

Five business days. You export call logs and answering-service reports; we read them. You get a written leakage report and a scoped install proposal. If you start install within 14 days, the $750 is credited in full against the $3,000.

What does $800/month include — and not include?+

Monitoring, job-type updates, after-hours coverage, and a monthly missed-call report. It does not include voice minutes, SMS, or model tokens. Those are pass-through with a monthly cap set at install.

How do I pay?+

The audit form on this site does not charge a card. If we take the work, you get a Lemon Squeezy invoice. Lemon Squeezy is the planned merchant of record (the operator is in Israel; Stripe is not the checkout).

How many trucks?+

Built for 1–20 truck shops. A one-van hobbyist usually does not have the after-hours volume to justify the install. A 40-truck outfit needs a different conversation than this site offers — email hello@afterdesk.com.

Can I see a real client audit?+

Not a live client audit. The sample page is built from public website facts for B & R Plumbing & Mechanical in Lubbock, TX, plus named industry benchmarks. It is labeled SAMPLE throughout. Their actual call volume was not measured.
